NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Multi-Dove Award-winning singer/songwriter Cindy Morgan and critically-praised singer/songwriter Andrew Greer have joined forces once again to bring their popular "Hymns for Hunger" Tour to cities around the country this spring. Presented by Food for the Hungry, the innovative tour-which was inaugurated last fall-also helps raise awareness and resources for local hunger relief organizations.

Morgan and Greer will showcase their unique Americana and folk interpretations of beloved hymns at spring tour stops in Chicago; Dallas; Atlanta; Charlotte, North Carolina; Knoxville, Tennessee; and Lexington, Kentucky, among other cities. In addition to sharing Food for the Hungry's initiatives, the duo will further spotlight the work of a local hunger relief organization in each city.

"More than merely a fundraiser, we talk about and point audiences to the need in their immediate vicinity, and how they can help," Greer shares. "It has been a perspective changer for us to observe how music can help address the need of our neighbors instantly. We hope this ongoing tour effort is one small part of bringing heaven to earth."

"Being a part of 'Hymns for Hunger' has opened my eyes to how many people are really struggling in today's economic climate," Morgan says. "I think what I have loved the most, is seeing people, unaware of the need before, coming together with such enthusiasm to help others who are struggling. It opens up dialogue on so many issues beyond hunger."

In addition to touring, Morgan and Greer shared their signature hymn arrangements earlier this year at the National Religious Broadcasters Convention and the re:create Conference for arts and worship leaders. They will also perform several selections later this month at the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association's Charlotte, North Carolina headquarters. The duo is slated to travel to Nicaragua next week with Food for the Hungry to visit the organization's three community development projects and meet their own sponsor children. Morgan and Greer also plan to record several hymns with members of the Nicaraguan community, which will be part of a future Hymns for Hunger project.

One of Christian music's most influential singer/songwriters, Cindy Morgan has garnered 12 GMA Dove Awards, including the prestigious Songwriter of the Year trophy. With 21 #1 hits to her credit, Morgan has penned songs for such artists as India Arie, Point of Grace, Mandisa and Francesca Battistelli, among others. Her latest solo effort, 2011's critically-acclaimed Hymns & Spirituals: Some Glad Morning, features Americana/folk-inspired arrangements of such beloved selections as "I'll Fly Away," "It Is Well" and "Leaning On The Everlasting Arms."

Andrew Greer is an accomplished singer/songwriter and respected music journalist. His latest recording, Angel Band: The Hymn Sessions, showcases collaborations with some of the top names in bluegrass, Gospel and Christian music, including The McCrary Sisters, Ron Block of Alison Krauss & Union Station, Sonya Isaacs, and Ginny Owens, among others. The recording is currently available as an exclusive at Family Christian Stores nationwide.
